GTC History

The history of GTC originates back to the early 70's when George Wheeler founded Woodland Gymnastics Camp. Shortly after, the camp was reloacted to Natick, Mass. at Walnut School of Arts. For many years, succesful athletes came from George Wheeler, a Framingham High school PE teacher and trampoline specialist. GTC moved to Framingham in 1991 and unforunately, George Wheeler became terminally ill in 1994 and his daughter, Cathy, who ran the business side for several years, sold the business to Lynn Mazzaferro, a former student of George. For the next 5 years Lynn built GTC in the 20,000 square-foot facility untill she decided to change careers.

In June of 2000 it was Richard Maijs (shown left), who in partnership of Dianne and Terry Copeland brought GTC to Holliston in a brand new State-of-the-art facility. Since 2005 Dianne and Terry have moved to Florida and GTC rests now solely on the shoulders of Richard Maijs and the wonderful and professional staff at GTC. GTC has expanded it's facility to 12,000 square-feet and since january 2007 and has a newly organized All Star Cheerleading team.

GTC is now one of the most well known facility for gymnastics instruction in the Massachusetts MetroWest area. GTC offers gymnastics classes for 18-month-olds to 18-years-olds (and beyond), cheerleading, tumbling and boys and girls competitive team programs.
